As Christmas draws near we aim to make it a time of happiness and enjoyment. Every year we like to give each child in refuge a Christmas present and so we are in need of brand new toys and clothes to give. If you would like to donate then please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0208 301 1536. We are also taking part in The Giving Tree with The Mall in Bexleyheath so please keep an eye out on this section of our website and our twitter account for more details.
BWA needs a variety of items in order to help women and children in the refuge and to return to independent living in the community. The women and their children often arrive at the refuge with no personal possessions so your gifts would be most appreciated. We aim to provide welcome packs for each new resident.
The following items are always of assistance:
- Non-perishable food items: tinned meat/fish, pasta, rice, coffee, tea, sugar
- New kitchen items including housekeeping items (eg. bin bags, washing up liquid) or home decor items
- Shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, nappies (for welcome packs)
Women leaving the refuge frequently need furniture, washer/dryers, and other household items and children require books, clothes and toys. Please call us on 0208 301 1536 if you have something you would like to donate and we will let you know if there is a current need. Please also allow time for us to arrange a collection.
Recycle Cartridges and Phones
We have teamed up with the Each One Counts scheme to help you recycle used inkjet cartridges and mobile phones AND raise money for us!
Millions of cartridges and phones are thrown away every year in the U.K. but they could be raising valuable cash.
To order some free post recycling bags please go to EachOneCounts/BWA and to find out more about being in with a chance of winning a bike!
Please remember to check your items are recyclable first and to register your bags so the donation goes to us.
